Anglesey Sail and Power :: Sailing and Powerboat courses in Wales

Anglesey Sail and Power starts the 2009 season with exciting additions to the courses it offers with the introduction of the RYA navigation theory courses to its programme. The family owned RYA training centre will carry out these theory courses in addition to continuing with keelboat sailing and powerboating based on the beautiful yet challenging waters of the Menai Strait, North Wales, where our activities are carried out beneath the imposing backdrop of the mountains of Snowdonia.

Our location makes us within easy reach of the large conurbations of North Wales and Northwest England with Liverpool and Manchester being little more than an hour away by road and easy rail links available.

Also new for 2009 is our new waterside base and classroom at Port Dinorwic where onshore teaching can be carried out in our modern comfortable purpose designed classroom just meters from the waters edge. For those requiring overnight accommodation or corporate groups we have maintained our links with the idyllic Plas Dinorwic Hotel where we have negotiated special rates for our customers in the hotel's 4 star guest house accommodation.

Our status as an RYA accredited training centre allows us to carry out a comprehensive schedule of RYA powerboat and sailing courses as well as shorebased courses .

For those not wishing to achieve any formal qualifications we will be offering corporate days ⁄ teambuilding days for up to 15 people that can involve keelboat sailing, powerboating and mountain biking, or any combination of activities.

If you want an exciting day or half day on the water just contact us and we will tailor our activities to suit your needs.

We also look forward to hosting stag and hen days where we are sure you will enjoy yourselves and the day can be as energetic or relaxing as you want it.

We will provide you with all the necessary safety equipment and technical waterproofs and can offer various options with regard to catering provisions.

Typically we would offer our corporate guests tea or coffee and pastries ⁄ croissants or bacon sandwiches upon arrival and a buffet at lunchtime. For those groups wishing to extend the day to include evening dinner as well after the days activities we would take you to a local highly recommended and friendly bistro to dine. For any groups wishing to stay overnight there are a number of local hotels and B&Bs where you would be made welcome.

Our aim whilst you are with us is to make your experience enjoyable and rewarding whilst feeling safe throughout. In an effort to make you safe we will only employ fully RYA qualified and experienced instructors who are well used to the local waters of the Menai Strait and will look after all of your safety needs.

Our powerboating and sailing will be carried out in a powerful 115Hp 6.0m Humber destroyer rib and 2 equally matched Hunter 707 keelboats (formerly voted yacht of the year). We also have 6 modern mountain bikes and associated safety equipment.
